In this video, I'm going to cover the new Wells Fargo Attune credit card, which is a new credit card that offers unlimited 4% cash back on a pretty large number of relevant categories for no annual fee.
These categories do not rotate and are grouped into 3 overall categories: self-care, select sports, recreation, and entertainment, and impactful purchases.
As described above, this card is particularly exciting because it’s the first card in a long while that’s been released with non-traditional credit card categories that combine aspects from the ones we’re familiar with
With that in mind, I’m going to break down what I think about this card, what factors you should consider when deciding whether or not to get it, and who exactly this card is for.

      She needs to have “earned income.” It may be helpful to ask a CPA for strategies on how to accomplish this.

    I am thinking of keeping my Surpass and getting Chase Sapphire Reserve. If the premise is that daily spend on Surpass is almost always or equal to Aspire, then having the Aspire for the free night and Diamond for $550 doesn’t get you much. If you put $40K on the Surpass, then there’s Diamond with lots of Hilton points. CSR provides value on certain other spends and allows flexibility on when you earn the free night. Flying twice a year, the Aspire, to me is a $450 card. The Chase SR, after the $300 travel credit is $250 and includes lounge access.

    Is there a best strategy to keep/renew the pass after the first time you get it?

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog 3 години тому

      If you have a Player 2, they could do this strategy as well. Otherwise, you'll have to wait 24 months from the time you got the welcome offer to do this again. There are also complimentary short-term CP opportunities that come up throughout the year!

    Can you explain what would happen if you did incur capital gains on the non deductible contribution to the traditional ira before converting it to Roth? If you can’t convert all the money in that account, what happens the next year when you go to contribute to the traditional ira again but there’s some untaxed money remaining in there?

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog 14 годин тому

      If you incurred capital gains, you can Roth convert this amount as well. You'll pay ordinary income tax on this amount, but usually it's pretty small so it's not too bad. By doing this, you can keep the Trad IRA balance at $0 by the Dec 31st!

      @@TheCreditFrog Thanks for the reply! So using 2024, if i deposit $7k into the trad. ira and it incurs $.50 of gains, I can convert $7,000.50 to my roth ira even though that is above the contribution limit for the roth?

    I am planning to do this sequence. Year 0 - Get Amex Brilliant and Business to start with Platinum status and get to Titanium status. Year 1 - Downgrade Amex Brilliant to Amex Bonvoy Year 2 - Get Chase Boundless Assuming I am applying for Chase card 24 months after Amex Brilliant to get sub. however as per chase boundless rule, there is no sub on chase Boundless if you had the $95 Amex bonvoy card in last 30 days. What to do with Amex Bonvoy card in this situation? Options 1) Cancel Amex Bonvoy, wait 30 days, apply Chase Boundless, and try for reinstatement for Amex Bonvoy 2) Cancel Amex Bonvoy, wait 30 days, apply Chase Boundless, and forget about Amex card. 3) Upgrade to Brilliant Card, wait 90 days, apply Chase Boundless and downgrade the Brilliant

    • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog 14 годин тому

      The only option that would work would be Option 2 or 3. You can't reinstate the Amex Bonvoy card and you can't reapply for it. The only way to get it is to PC a Brilliant or a Bevy card. The big question for you is if you really want the Bonvoy card. It has an anniversary free night so holding it in year 1 wouldn't serve a purpose unless you kept it until you got that free night before canceling/PC'ing the card.

All of these is in a span of 10 minutes. So you can add in referral link sources too for some reason. So from that point on, I tried to use all sources to applied for the card that I really need before giving up and then try again in a few days using the same method. • @TheCreditFrog
      @TheCreditFrog 4 дні тому

      Personally, I cash out points at 1cpp to my bank account. Since switching to most of my spend on the USBAR, I don't really spend as much on the BofA PR Elite so it would take months to even get close to enough points to redeem for a one-way flight. It's easier for me to just get the immediate cash back redemption and get the better return on the USBAR with RTR. If you spent a lot on the PRE, then I would absolutely try to redeem it using the BofA travel portal to get that extra 20% rewards boost!

    Until @SouthwestAir fixes their abhorrent preboarding process I don’t care how many perks they shove onto a card.

      It's true. That preboarding process has gotten out of control!

    Love how you broke down your own spending in analyzing the card's value for you. While this is important to do for any card, I think it's especially so for the Attune since there are just so many categories, many of which are quite niche. And yes, Swifties will be very intrigued with this card haha. Awesome stuff Stan!

      Thanks so much Monty! Yeah, breaking down the categories is important when deciding to get a card, but especially this one, where there are so many of them!! The entertainment category is a big one and should put C1 on notice since it can now offer 4% entertainment on a no annual fee card.

    Amex play and gold are keeper cards if you get use out of the credits anyways then you just net even and gain more points, quite simple really. Amex are the only AF cards that are worth the money and keeping open. Chase cards are garbage and the rest don’t compare, and I’m not even an Amex fan boy just the reality of it. You use Hulu and Uber and travel one time in a year auto keeper plat. You eat food and shop for food like any human then the gold is a keeper, you vacation once a year well then the Hilton is an easy pick up. Simple, if you have the money to spend amex is the best with no completion. I spend 6k on AF cards and get about 10k in value from them and enjoy yeh status.

      Hey, if they work for you than that's great! Amex definitely has the highest annual fees, and even in my own setup I pay the most amount of annual fees across to Amex. I will say that not everyone will get value from Amex cards and it really depends on how you use them. The statement credits could bring you value back, but not everyone will get the true value out of them since they are basically prepaid expenses. Only if you organically use them (even without the credit) does it become true value. But yes, if you travel a lot, cards like the Platty are great!

      Aww man. Yeah that’s one negative about this card, but maybe this gives you time to get an Autograph card (provided that the Attune can transfer to it)!

    I have not seen a single person mention that Wells Fargo just gave us 4x back on Pokemon Cards from TCG Player 😂 It's game over lol

      Hahaha! OMG, we gotta catch em all, and why not get 4% while doing so!

      @TheCreditFrog Exactly lol Also, nobody mentions the plethora of things you can get on Etsy, which gets covered by the Attune, or the fact that I can get 4x back on firearms or ammo from Academy. This thing really is a juggernaut of a card. It has some sort of value for almost everyone.
